Intense Mint Lemonade

I Love this drink!

My garden gave me so much mint this week, thus this recipe was inspired.  Perfect when you’re not ready to let go of the last hot days of summer.

Tip: this is the best, most refreshing, most intense and wonderful lemonade ever! However, if you make it as directed, it will come out green.  If you’re not already used to drinking green drinks, green smoothies, and water with super-greens, this could be a problem.  If so, use 1/2 the amount of mint given here, crush it, and add it at the end.  Let the lemonade sit for a few hours in your refrigerator. It will still have a mint taste —  but it won’t be the powerful green lemon kick of this wonderful, healthy treat.

Intense Mint Lemonade

1 cup fresh squeezed organic lemon juice
1 packed cup fresh mint leaves (approximately the amount of leaves from three whole large stems)
3/4 cup agave syrup
1 cup ice
4 cups cold water

Blend well until all the mint is very well blended in and the drink is slightly slushy.  Makes 4 tall glasses of intense refreshment.
